Only Believe

Only Believe
life and ministry
sharing with Pastor Dapo Adeniyi

God promises to do wonders for us in our lives, families and nations – if only we will believe.

One of the many meanings of the word believe is to be willing and obedient (Is. 1:19)

“You will eat the good of the land” actually means, God will work with you.

It also means, He will be with you.

The condition for receiving heaven’s assistance is to believe.

To believe and receive every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.

I can also say upfront that God wants to save, heal, deliver, provide and surprise tonight, if only we will believe.

Only those whose eyes have been opened can believe God.

And we are talking about believing God, not believing in God.

They sound the same but they are not the same.

When your eyes are opened, you will see God.

God may be invisible but He is real to those who know Him.

We may not be able to see Him with our outward eyes but we can see Him with the eyes of our hearts.

The natural or outwards eyes are limited in how much they can see.

The same way that human understanding is limited.

Revelations given by God are greater by far.

There are three attributes of those who can see God.

The first is that, they fear Him.

The Bible hints that the reason the sons of Eli did evil was because they knew not the Lord.

The second attribute of those who see God is that they can praise Him.

The third attribute of those who can see God is that, they can see His works.

Is 42:1 says “Who hath believed our report? Who, except those to whom the hand of the Lord has been revealed”.

To see God’s hand means to see His works

A good example is the case of the man born blind in John 9.

For some, he was proof that God did not exist.

Some felt that if God existed at all, the man’s case proved that He wasn’t fair.

Jesus however revealed that the pain in that man’s situation was so that, the works of God could be seen in his life.

How then can the works of God be seen in the life of one who was born blind?

The answer is, the one born blind makes it possible to see God’s work in those born seeing.

It takes someone with no appetite at all for God’s work to be seen in the one who can eat a houseful.

It takes someone with no arm to show God’s work in those with their arms complete.

I believe that one evidence of God’s work in your life, is that you are here tonight.

Finally there are 2 kinds of unbelief.

Unbelief can be as result of weakness or weariness.

Unbelief can also be an expression of rebellion against God – an attempt to deny God.

Some actually hate God.

Some hate to love God or love to hate Him.

The good news is that the weary can be healed and restored.

Even the rebellious can surrender to Jesus Christ.
